Puzzle, materials & suggested pacing
Ready-to-use activities: Reactor Rescue is a 12–15-minute partner game using nine counters, a pencil, and scratch paper. No cutting or die is needed. The Whole-Unit Vault puzzle is designed for 8–12 minutes. Hands-on labs generally list 15–20 minutes.
Plan across sessions: Introduce a model, work through guided examples, then choose independent practice. Use a checkpoint to decide whether to revisit the idea before moving on. The four lessons contain multiple activities; they are not four single class periods.
Common supplies: pencils, paper, counters, and a ruler. Some labs suggest optional string, tape, or sticky notes. Songs and videos require internet access.

Ready-to-use game: Reef Radio Rescue takes 10–14 minutes of play, with 1–2 minutes of setup. Partners use eight counters and paper or mini-whiteboards. The radio pages fold; no cutting is needed.

Before you choose your book
What may I print or share with a PDF purchase?
One PDF purchase covers one teacher and all classes that teacher personally teaches. You may print student pages for those learners and share assigned student pages through a private classroom platform accessible only to them. Other teachers need their own licenses.
Keep teacher-edition answers and guidance private. Do not post the PDF publicly, resell it, or share the full file with colleagues. Contact us about school or district licenses.
Is this a complete grade-level curriculum?
Each book covers Unit 1 for one grade level. Grade 3 includes three lessons on whole numbers. Grade 6 includes four lessons on fraction, decimal, and percent equivalence. Additional units and grade levels are not included.
What is the difference between the student and teacher editions?
The student workbook contains the learning activities and practice. The teacher edition pairs student pages with answers, explanations, and teaching guidance, with additional support for using the unit. It is a separate purchase. Preview a teacher spread in your grade's section above.
Should I choose a PDF or a printed book?
Choose a PDF to view the book on screen or print pages yourself on 8.5 × 11-inch paper. Choose print for a full-color, 8.5 × 11-inch coil-bound book with a matte cover, made to order and shipped to you. Select the edition and format before adding it to your cart.
When will I receive my book?
For a PDF purchase, your download link is sent by email after purchase. Printed books must be produced before shipping. Lulu generally estimates 3–5 business days for production, plus transit time; timing varies by destination, shipping method, and demand. Read Lulu's production information.
How much is shipping?
Current U.S. book shipping is $6.95 for one book, $10.95 for 2–5 books, or $22.95 for 6–10 books. Shipping is separate from the book price. Contact us about larger or international orders. PDFs do not require shipping.
Can I use this at home or in my classroom?
Both settings can use the unit's examples, practice, and activities. Parents can work through a model together before independent practice; teachers can select pages for instruction, small groups, and review. Contact us about multiple-classroom or school purchases.
Does the book include online activities or automatic grading?
These editions are printable workbooks with STEAMspirations song and video links. They do not include an assignment platform or automatic grading. Internet access is needed for videos; paper activities can be completed offline.
How does it support STAAR preparation?
The units combine concept practice with selected STAAR-style response formats. These are original workbook activities, not official STAAR test questions or an online testing simulation. Mathtastico is not endorsed by TEA and does not guarantee test results.
Which units are complete, and what is coming next?
Grade 3 Unit 1 and Grade 6 Unit 1 are complete, with matching student and teacher editions. Grades 4 and 5 are coming soon. Sign up for the Grade 4 and Grade 5 launches. These books cover Unit 1 only; later units are still in development.
